Day 1
A DAY AT THE AEGEAN……Thessaloniki – Olympos Riviera
Meeting our guide at Thessaloniki airport. Panoramic city tour visiting the Byzantine museum, the White tower and the Cathedral of St. Dimitri. Continue to the Olympus Riviera. Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2
ANCIENT MACEDONIAN STORY…… Vergina – Bitola – Ohrid
Departure to Vergina. Visit of the Royal Macedonian Tomb and the rich site museum. Our local Greek guide will explain the great history of Macedonian Kingdom. Continuing to Bitola, Republic of Macedonia. Visit of the archaeological site of Heraclea Lyncestis, founded by King Philip II. In Roman&Early-Christian times becomes a regional Capitol, with a great Theater and Bishop’s residence, richly decorated with colorful floor mosaics. The short walk in the town center brings us back romantic memories of the time when the “City of Consuls” was the major culture and political center in the Balkans. Lunch break and continue to Ohrid. Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
National park Galichica: Mount Galichica is a perfect representative of a Dinaric carst, offering breath-taking views of both lakes. Characteristic flora and fauna of typical Dinaric karst. Drive across the mountain from Ohrid Lake to Prespa Lake. Learning about the local flora and fauna, endemic species and about the national parks in Macedonia.. Short coffee-refreshment break on the shore of lake Prespa. Continue to the island Golem Grad by boat.

Day 3
BYZANTINE CULTURE & NATURE BEAUTY…..Ohrid – Dures
Ohrid Lake is one of the deepest and oldest in the world, and Ohrid is the mithological „City of Light” which became one of the biggest medeval religious and culture centers. Byzantian art and literature were spread from here to all Mideval Slavic kingdoms in Europe. Both, the town and the lake, are unique jewels in the UNESCO’s World Heritage. Sightseeing of the Old town build in traditional architecture. Lunch break and departure to Albania. Arriving in Dures in the afternoon. Dures is one of the most important ports in the Adriatic from Archaic times to now days. Guided tour, visiting the legendary City Walls and the Old Bazaar. Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4
ROMANTIC HEROISM & REALSOCIALISM…Tirana – Kruje – Budva
Departure to Tirana. City tour in the Albanian Capitol, visiting also the National Museum. In continue visit of Kruje, the birth place of the Albanian National hero-SKENDERBEY. Due to his great heroism and skills, he managed to keep the Ottomans outside his kingdom until his death in late 15 cent. After the lunch break departing to Shkodra and Montenegro. Arriving in Budva in the evening. Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5
THE EAGLES’ COUNTRY–WILD & PROUD….Cetinje – Kotor – Dubrovnik
Half day at the Royal town of Montenegro, Cetinje. Visit of the Royal Palace and continue through Njegusi on the slopes of Lovcen Mountain. Chance to taste the local cheese and smoked ham. Enjoying the breathtaking view to the Boka fiord while driving to Kotor (UNESCO). Short walk inside the fortified medieval town. Free time for lunch and departure to Dubrovnik.Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6
DUBROVNIK-THE BASTION OF LIBERTY
City tour with local guide: The Pile Gate, Onofrio’s Fountain, Cathedral, Duke’s Palace, Old Harbour and the Arsenal…all precious monuments from the glorious times of Dubrovnik Republic. Free time for individual exploring. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7
DALMATIAN COAST PANORAMA….Split – Trogir – Sibenik
Driving along one of the most exciting coastlines in the world, we arrive in the Emperor Diocletian’s birth town, Split. Visit of the Roman palace and free time for individual exploring and lunch. In the afternoon continue to Sibenik with on the way stop in Trogir. Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8
THE WONDERS OF NATURE….Plitvice – Opatija
Half day refreshing walk in the National park Plitvice. Sixteen crystal water lakes connected by waterfalls make this masterpiece of nature unique. In the afternoon continue to Opatija, the most bellowed summer resort of the Habsburg aristocracy. Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9
THE CAVE, THE CITY, THE LAKE….Postojna – Ljubljana – Bled
Postojna Cave is of the biggest and most beautiful in Europe. Special train will take us in the underground world of stalactites….After an hour or two, back to daylight. The city of the Green Dragon is expecting us. Sightseeing of the old central part of Ljubljana. Coffee break at the Castle and free time for lunch. In the afternoon arriving at Bled. Panoramic sightseeing around the lake and visit of the castle on the top of the rock. Check in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10
FARAWELL AND FLY OFF…
Our tour ends with the transfer to Ljubljana Airport…

TOUR HIGHLIGTS:

Thessaloniki (UNESCO): A The Byzantine monuments in the center and its rich museums are sufficient reason to visit this city. But one must see also the Cathedral of the Patron, St.Dimitri, including the Crypt of the Saint.

Vergina (UNESCO): The ancient first capital of the Kingdom of Macedonia. The most important remains are the monumental palace, burial ground. One of the royal tombs in the Great Tumulus is identified as that of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great.

Heraclea Lyncestis: The remaninings from the Roman and Early Byzantine time show the importance of this city founded by Philip II. Well preserved Roman Theater and numerous areas paved with colorful mosaics are its main attributes. Nearby lays Bitola, once the diplomatic and cultural center of the Ottoman Empire in the Balkans.

Ohrid (UNESCO): Both, the Lake and the Town, are unique monuments. In the Cathedral St. Sophia some frescos from the 11th century have strong Renaissance elements that couldn’t be seen in Europe before 14th century. Ohrid University of St. Clement was built 200 years before that in Bologna, which makes it oldest in Europe.

Tirana: It is interesting to see the mix of the Real Socialism architecture from Hoxha’s time and the new, modern still&glass buildings. Little furder, in Kruje , the picture changes from the rustic fortress to the picturesque market where one can see old forgotten crafts and buy handmade goods.

Cetinje: The Royal Palace hides an interesting story about the King and his daughters who became queens of several European kingdoms. The Monastery is guarding the hand of St. John the Baptist!

Kotor (UNESCO): Inside the impressive town walls lies the medieval town which was an important artistic and commercial centre with its own famous schools of masonry and iconography.

Dubrovnik (UNESCO): Once the third largest naval fleet in the world belonged to the independent Dubrovnik Republic. It held its independence and liberty for centuries. Today it is one of the World’s most frequently visited tourist destination due to the best preserved medieval historic core.

Split (UNESCO): The Roman Emperor Diocletian built here a magnificent palace in which he spent his last years. Through the ages, Split became the most important Dalmatian port and it’s Capitol.

Trogir (UNESCO): One of the oldest towns in Dalmacia, with a fascinating 2300 years of continuous urban tradition. Its beautiful Romanesque churches are complemented by the outstanding Renaissance and Baroque buildings from the Venetian period”, says UNESCO report.

Plitvice Lakes (UNESCO): An unique nature rarity. Relatively easy walking along the lake shores, combined with a lovely boat ride across Lake Kozjak will turn the day into a very pleasant and relaxing adventure.

Postojna Cave: More than 20 km length, of which open to the tourists are 5,3 km. Special railway was built in 1872 for tourist purposes.

Bled: Top Slovenian tourist destination. First tourist groups visited Bled more than 150 years ago, due to it’s healthy climate.
