We pick you up at your hotel and transfer to the Information center of National Park Pelister. From there we will hike up the stone trail to reach the peaks Stiv Ilinden and Pelister, passing through the endemic Molika pine forest and the dramatic glacial moraines. On our way down the mountain we will pass along the historic trail from WWI.
The hike will begin at Hotel Molika, and from here continue along the interpreted mountain trail with stops for resting along the way.
We will climb to peak Pelister (one of the highest in the Balkans, 2.601 m.asl), and along the way see the remains from the glacier period – the impressive “stone rivers”, hike through the dense woods of the rare 5 needle pre-historic type of pine – Molika, as well as the endemic alpine flora and fauna. From atop Mount Pelister you will have a magnificent view of the land around the mountain – Pelagonia valley and Lake Prespa.
On the way down from the mountain we will pass through the historic trail from the First World War, with short stops at the info posts along the trail.
